[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] When it comes to creating a feeling of serenity, you’d expect that to come from the scent of a candle rather than the appearance. But, I find both the look and feel of the new Aromatherapy Associates candles as calming as the aromatherapy fragrances – they’re just soothing to gaze at and somehow melt into the background of wherever they are to unobtrusively create a well being atmosphere.
There are four fragrance options – Rose, Deep Relax, De-Stress and and Revive, each containing 10ml aromatherapy oil (the equivalent of two of the tiny bottles you get in the multi-sets). I think many BBB readers are already familiar with Aromatherapy Associates scents (because I never stop going on about them) but as a top line, Deep Relax is Vetivert, Camomile and Sandalwood. De-Stress is Frankincense, Camomile and Petitgrain, Revive is Grapefruit, Rosemary and Juniper Berry, while Rose is Rose, Geranium and Palmarosa.
The packaging is impressive (nicely gift-able) and although I think they’re on the pricy side at £48 at the time of writing Feel Unique has them for £40.80 HERE and I would bite at that.
One thing I would note is that if you have the bath oils and are thinking to double up by lighting up in the bathroom, don’t. The scent from the candles is very good but the bath oils would out-power them easily so you’d never actually smell the candle. A better way perhaps would be to have a contrasting candle burning in whatever room you’re going to after your bath (bedroom maybe but never leave a burning candle unattended etc etc) so you can get the benefit that way.
I am greatly enjoying their quiet presence – for a work from home companion I’d recommend Revive, for chilled out evenings I’d recommend De-Stress and Deep Relax is so soporific that I’d recommend it only when you’re happy to nod off for a while. Rose is an any time, any place aroma.
